Lewis Thomason: What is something that is popular now that annoys you?
Chris Sullivan: Capacitive touch screens and electronic sensors replacing mechanical buttons, knobs, or levers in washrooms, car interiors, door locks, etc.
Lewis Thomason: What is one of the most memorable moments in your life so far?
Chris Sullivan: The birth of my daughter.
Lewis Thomason: What book is on your bedside table (or on your e-reader)?
Chris Sullivan: A bunch, but on top is “The Making of the President 1968” by Theodore H. White.
Lewis Thomason: What is the best place you have ever visited?
Chris Sullivan: Pretty much anywhere along the Pacific Coast Highway seems like the best place when you are there, in particular the areas around Santa Barbara, San Luis Obispo, Or Santa Cruz.
Lewis Thomason: If you could change careers, what would you choose?
Chris Sullivan: Journalist.
Lewis Thomason: What is the one thing you couldn’t live without?
Chris Sullivan: Music.
Lewis Thomason: If you had time for a new hobby or to learn a new skill, what would you choose and why?
Chris Sullivan: Auto mechanics. It’s something I’ve only dabbled with but I’d love to be able to diagnose most mechanical ailments and fix them.
Lewis Thomason: What is one think on your bucket list and why?
Chris Sullivan: To sail the Great Loop down the Mississippi or Tombigbee to the gulf, around Florida, up the east coast, over to the Great Lakes, and back down. It would be a test of planning and ability and a wonderful way to experience different climates, geography and local areas in the United States from a totally different perspective.
Lewis Thomason: What is your favorite drink and why?
Chris Sullivan: The first cup of black coffee in the morning. It brings comfort and relief no matter where you are.
Lewis Thomason: What famous person do you admire and why?
Chris Sullivan: Harry S. Truman. He was more or less excluded from any major decision making in the White House and immediately had to rise to the challenge of guiding us through the end of World War II and into the immediate post war world.
Christopher Sullivan, Special Counsel, practices in the Memphis office of Lewis Thomason.
