Lewis Thomason’s lawyers represent a wide variety of medical care providers and have extensive knowledge of health care liability law. Recently six lawyers from Lewis Thomason’s Memphis office presented a mock health care liability trial to a class of medical residents and fellows at the University of Tennessee Health Sciences Center on June 3, 2024. The fictional plaintiff alleged that the defendant surgeon’s negligence caused his wife’s death. Noor Obaji played the part of the defendant. Kent Francis represented her, and Caroline Montoya testified as the defense expert. Will Podesta represented the plaintiff, Andrew Todd, with Hallie Robison serving as the plaintiff’s expert. After analyzing the evidence, the class of doctors found that the surgeon complied with the standard of care. The lawyers then answered questions about health care liability actions and trial practice.
