Jim Weatherly was recently elected Member at Large for the Board of Directors of the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee. The Legal Aid Society provides legal services throughout Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands. They have 48 attorneys in eight offices across Tennessee. Jim is Special Counsel in the firm’s Nashville office. He has over 40 years of legal experience and began his career with a focus on criminal law, resulting in his past election as the public defender for Metro Nashville-Davidson County, Tennessee. While his criminal law practice continues he has a strong concentration on family law. He has served as president of the Nashville Bar Association and the Tennessee Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. He has chaired the Tennessee Supreme Court Commission on Indigent Defense, was a founding member of the Supreme Commission on Continuing Legal Education, and currently serves as Chancellor for the Episcopal Diocese of Tennessee.
